Kate Calisto, researcher on the Title III grant, defended her doctoral dissertation on 6-18-13 towards her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. The title of her dissertation was: A Comparative Case Study of Teachers Who Support an Entity Versus Incremental View of Intelligence. Professor Kamran Swanson attended the “Reacting to the Past” National Institute at Barnard College in NYC on June 6-9, 2013. In addition to playing a number of new games, he led a concurrent session titled “Using Reacting to the Past in Community Colleges, Open Enrollment, and Commuter Schools,” alongside Professor of History Mark Higbee of Eastern Michigan University and Assistant Professor Abigail Perkiss of Kean University.
He was also elected to the RTTP Board, which is responsible for the publication of new games, introducing new faculty and colleges to the RTTP pedagogy, and supporting game designers in game development. Professor Caroline Shoenberger was appointed as a member of a Special Committee on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities for the American Bar Association in her role as an attorney for the Chicago Legal Clinic.
