Former student Ryan Patwell graduated with his BSc in Biology with highest department distinction from UIC! Ryan took several biotech courses and participated in undergraduate research with Farah Movahedzadeh and Ellen Goldberg assisted him with the transfer process.
Farah Movahedzadeh, Abour Cherif and Margie Martyn presented at American Association of University Administrators conference last week. Margie and Farah presented “Undergraduate Research: The Final Frontier” and all three presented “Do College Students Give a Flipped about Flipped Learning?” They also met Dr. Stephen Tractenberg, author of Presidencies Derailed. Connie Wolf of the Art and Architecture Department will be participating in two shows this month. The first is Art for Tibet on May 15 at the Tibet House in NYC. The second is “Athens on Paper,” an invitational exhibition at The Dairy Barn Art Center in Athens, Ohio. It opens on May 16 and will run through June 8.

Akademos/TextbookX, the official online bookstore provider for City Colleges of Chicago, will be hiring TWO HWC students for a paid fall internship. If you know of a student who may be interested, tell them to stop by the Career Center on the 11th Floor or look for the job on the CareerNetwork!
Kim Bowens, who oversees Dual Enrollment and Dual Credit, shared that two HWC Dual Enrollment Student who attend Kenwood High School were awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship. Scholarship winners were announced this week.
