This contest was named for Ramon B. Price, a Chicago-born artist who was the chief curator of the DuSable Museum of African-American History and a half-brother of the late Mayor Harold Washington.

Mr. Price was the Art Department Chair and Human Relations coordinator at DuSable High School.  He was also program director at the South Side Community Art Center.

As a painter and sculpture his works received high acclaim and can be found in numerous collections including those of the State of Illinois

and the university of Indiana.  Mr. Price loved art and was always ready to serve and to educate people in African American history.

This contest was open to the entire student body.
