Thanks to Latonya Henley and other proactive staff members, Harold Washington College now has a Staff Council. This excerpt is taken from an early version of the Staff Council Constitution, and it’s exciting:
The purpose of a Staff Council is to ensure an institution of the highest integrity and enriching quality – where staff are committed to serving students and the HWC community; where enthusiasm and morale are high; and where staff professionalism and dedication find complete expression, working in unity with students, faculty, and administration to fulfill the mission of the college.
If you’re a staff member at HWC, consider joining! See the note below from Latonya – the next Staff Council meeting is Wednesday, April 8th:
Our last council meeting was Monday, March 23rd and some really AWESOME ideas and future events were discussed for professional development, motivational speakers, scholarships, and many more.
Our next Staff Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 2:00 p.m. in room 622.
During this meeting we will be conducting elections for the Executive Council (President and Vice President). We are also looking for seven members who will actively participate as a member of the Executive Council.
Come out and share your thoughts and ideas. Your attendance is very important and we look forward to seeing you at the next EXCITING meeting of the Staff Council.
