Thank you to Professor Ray Tse for sharing news of STEM student success at HWC. This student club has been well-supported by Ray, and provided meaningful learning experiences and scholarships to student members. See the great accomplishments, including acceptance into Princeton University programs, below.
We are near the end of the semester. I just want to keep you informed of the achievement of some students in the STEM Club and Physical Science Department. The following students shall be doing exciting things this summer and beyond.
Nikica Trajkovski and Miguel Torres
Nickica is the President of the STEM Club and Miguel has been an active member. Both of them are interested in electrical engineering. They are accepted in a NSF Summer REU (Biophysics) at Princeton. An exciting aspect of this REU is that they are qualified to spend the summer of 2016 in Europe to continue their research.
Christina Pham, Alina Varabyeva and Michelle Yu
These students will start their journey to gain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at UIC in the fall. Michelle and Alina have been our long-term student tutors. Christina is currently in my Chemistry 207 class.
Raman Bamidele, a current student in my organic chemistry class, has been accepted to Howard University Medical School in their MD program.
Enjoy you day.
