Updates from HWC Child Development Team

Professor Jennifer Asimow and Professor Carrie Nepstad (Child Development) presented at the Early Childhood Educator Preparation Program Innovation (EPPI) Grant Meeting in Bloomington-Normal on December 18, 2015. This meeting is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development, Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, The Center, The Illinois Board of Higher Education, The Illinois Community College Board, and Illinois State Board of Education.

Their presentation with their grant partners outlined the various articulations that have been negotiated for the students who graduate with the Associate of Applied Science in Child Development who want to transfer to four-year universities.

The picture below includes (from left to right) Professor Catherine Main from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Christie Chadwick from the Governor’s Office on Early Childhood,  and Professor Jennifer Asimow from Harold Washington College.  At the meeting, they spoke about articulation projects funded by the Race to the Top Funds from the Early Learning initiatives Grant: The Early Childhood Educator Preparation Innovation Grant.
