Kudos to Professor Carrie Nepstad and Professor Jennifer Asimow for their collaboration on publishing a monograph describing collaborations between two and four-year colleges and universities. This work contributed to improved child development education programs and the development of streamlined pathways to the Bachelor of Arts for community college graduates. The monograph is entitled, “Voices from the Field: Collaborative Innovations in Early Childhood Educator Preparation.”
The work described in the monograph was funded by the Illinois Board of Higher Education from 2013 to 2016. Across the state, twenty university early childhood education programs and thirty-seven community college partners worked together on aligning curriculum to address areas of need and to create supportive, seamless articulations that would enable AAS degree holders to continue on to a BA in early childhood education. Harold Washington College partnered with a number of four-year institutions, including the University of Illinois at Chicago, Roosevelt University and Loyola University.
This work will be celebrated on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at a reception at Roosevelt University. https://www.regonline.com/celebratevoices
